Teachers Inspire Ireland 20232024
Teachers inspire selection8

Thank you to everyone who took the time to submit an entry. Each and every nomination will be read and appreciated, and we look forward to sharing the stories with you.

The deadline for entries for the inaugural Teachers Inspire initiative has now passed and we are delighted that over 400 of you have taken the time to submit your stories of the inspiring teachers that have made a difference in your life, the life of your children, or in the wider community.

The next stage of the Teachers Inspire initiative is now set to begin, as the extremely difficult task of shortlisting entries lies ahead. This will take place over the coming months, and following this process, the shortlisted nominations will be announced and all the selected entries will be profiled on the Teachers Inspire website.

Entries spanned over an eighty-year period, from the 1940’s to the present day, covering an array of inspirational teachers from primary schools, secondary schools, and the Further Education and Training sector.

A teacher who provided free secondary education for students in her locality at a time when second level education was the preserve of a wealthy elite; a secondary school maths teacher, who supported one of his students to come out as gay in the early 1990s; and multiple stories of teachers who have helped teenagers through unplanned pregnancies and supported and encouraged them to go on and complete their education at second and third level – are among some of the remarkable nominations that have been submitted.

The initiative will culminate in the inaugural Teachers Inspire Ireland gala dinner on 27th September, at which teachers from across the country (one from each province) will be acknowledged and celebrated.

Teachers Inspire would like to extend a heartfelt thank-you to everyone who took the time to submit an entry. Each and every nomination will be read and appreciated, and we look forward to sharing the stories with you.
